Finding the source of ongoing leaks on a Pimlico flat roof
A housing estate block with ongoing water ingress and no safe roof access. We surveyed the whole roof by drone first, before any scaffold went up.

The problem
The block had ongoing water ingress, and earlier coating repairs had not stopped it. The only safe way onto the roof was a scaffold, so the client needed to know what was wrong, and where, before paying for one.
What we did
We flew overlapping runs across the whole 51 by 11 metre flat roof, capturing matched visual and thermal images at about 5 mm per pixel. Every outlet, channel and clerestory was photographed close up, and the images were laser-scaled so repair zones could be measured.
What we found
Water was holding around most of the outlets and spreading beyond the visible tide marks, into roof that looked dry from above. Earlier repairs were ponding just as badly as the original covering. Standing water and algae staining sat in the shaded channels behind the clerestories.
The result
Around 205 m² of repair zones were measured from the imagery. The contractor could plan one short scaffold visit for targeted repairs, or price a full overlay with confidence, instead of opening up the roof to find out.
