Drone facade and roof surveys in Westminster
Inspecting buildings in the West End, Pimlico, Marylebone and Mayfair without scaffold or pavement licences. We have surveyed live streets in the West End and housing estates in Pimlico.

Buildings we inspect across Westminster
Period facades
Stucco, render, stone and brick facades on busy streets, where scaffold means licences, closures and weeks of disruption.
Hotels and offices
Buildings that cannot have scaffold across the front during trading. A drone surveys the facade in a short, controlled visit.
Housing estates and mansion blocks
Flat roofs, parapets and elevations on estates and blocks in Pimlico, Westminster and Marylebone.
Roofscapes and domes
Lead roofs, domes, mansards and cornices that are hard to reach and easy to miss from the street.
Recent work near Westminster
In Pimlico we surveyed a 51 by 11 metre flat roof on a housing estate with ongoing leaks, measuring around 205 m² of repair zones without anyone going onto the roof. In the West End we flew a live street and built a 3D model of the facade with every defect pinned, including a crack flagged as a falling-object risk. See our facade inspection service.
Airspace and permissions
Much of Westminster is inside controlled and restricted airspace, including restricted areas over parts of central London and the zone around Battersea Heliport. We plan every central London flight around these, arrange the permissions and run the site with a ground team.
How a survey works
Send us the address and what you need to know. We check the airspace, plan the flight and confirm the day. On site we use a small take-off area, fly close overlapping runs over every roof plane and elevation, and capture thermal images where they help. AI defect detection runs across the imagery and an experienced inspector checks and grades every finding before it goes into your report.
Can you fly a drone in central London?
Yes, with the right authorisation and permissions. We fly under a CAA operational authorisation (PDRA01) and arrange any airspace permissions needed for the address before the day.
Will the survey close the pavement?
Normally not. We use a small, controlled take-off area with a ground team and keep the drone clear of the public. Where a site needs more control, we agree it with you in advance.
Is it legal to fly a drone over buildings in London?
Yes, when it is done under the right authorisation. 901 Aerial Surveys flies under a CAA operational authorisation (PDRA01), which covers commercial flights close to people and buildings. Much of London sits inside controlled or restricted airspace, so we arrange any permissions needed before the day.
Do you need access to my property?
Usually only a small, controlled take-off area, such as a car park, garden or a quiet stretch of pavement. Nobody needs to go onto the roof or into the building for the inspection itself.
